Lodging Prior to Departure

CONUS Temporary Lodging Expense (TLE) reimburses stateside DoD members for up to 3 nights of lodging and meals in government quarters prior to departing for Italy.

Lodging Upon Arrival

Temporary Lodging Facility (TLF) and Visiting Quarters:

The Mountain View Lodge has 72 Visiting Quarters (VQ) facilities and 4 business suite. We also have suites that compliant with the American Disabilities Act (ADA).

Amenities

The TLF rooms have a living room area, fully equipped kitchen, a small laundry area, TV and DVD players, and Wi-Fi access.

Temporary Lodging Allowance (TLA)

TLA reimburses Airmen for overseas government lodging and meals in 10-night increments. Temporary Quarters Subsidy Allowance (TQSA) reimburses civilians for overseas government lodging and meals in 30-night increments.

Length of Stay

Active Duty - 30 days inbound and 10 days outbound. Extension is possible but you must contact housing at: 31fw.housing@us.af.mil. You can also go directly to the housing guidance booklets for more information.

Civilian - 90 days inbound and 30 days outbound (make reservations in 30 day increments inbound and may request extension if more than 90 days is needed). Contact Civilian Personnel Office for more information.

Make a Reservation ASAP Without Orders

Who: DoD member, sponsor, or spouse can reserve a room. Credit card info is needed to confirm reservation.

How: To request a room, call Mountain View Lodge at DSN 632-4040 / Commercial 011-39-0434-30-4040 (recommended). Alternatively, you may email them at avianolodgingfrontdesk@gmail.com with: DoD member’s name, arrival date, number of family members, ages and number of children (if any), pets (if any), and contact info.

When: Make reservations up to 12 months in advance without PCS orders (Orders are needed at check-in).

Where: The Mountain View Lodge is conveniently located on the Flightline area of the base (Area F). It is close to the Commissary, BX, Club, and the Dragon Fitness Center. The Lodge offers a business center, ATM, maps of the local area, English/Italian speaking staff and convenient purchase of snacks, souvenirs, soft drinks, etc.

NOTE: Delayed flight or problem arriving to the base? You must call The Mountain View Lodge if you are unable to check in on time, otherwise your room will be released.

Pets & Lodging

TLF does accept pets! There are 24 units for occupants PCSing with pets. If the units are occupied and non-pet rooms are available, you will not be issued a statement of non-availability if you have a pet and decide to stay off-base.

  • At check-in, you must present a rabies certification for your pets
  • Pets must always be on a leash
  • Lodging costs for pets are at your own expense
  • Nightly Pet Fee: $10.00/night, payable in advance
  • Pet Cleaning Fee: No cleaning fee unless there is damage
  • Kennels are available in the area
  • Limit of pets is 2

Off-base Lodging

Everyone must first try to secure lodging on-base. If there are no vacancies, you will be required to obtain a statement of non-availability prior to obtaining off-base lodging or risk not being eligible for temporary lodging allowance (TLA) reimbursement! Mountain View Lodge will make arrangements for you off-base and help secure lodging.
