Aviano Air Base is home to the Wyvern Readiness Center and Dragon Fitness Center where there is something for everyone! We offer group fitness classes, intramural sports, Crossfit, and more. Our goal is to provide quality programs and services to help individuals stay on top of their fitness goals.
The Fitness Staff would also like you to be aware of a 5K route which is also available for your usage! This 5K route (the blue route) starts next to the FAC and ends by the LVIS Gate. This 5K also includes the following stations along the route:
In order to complete this 5K, the runner must run there and back and complete the 5K stations.

The Dragon Fitness Center is a state of the art fitness facility, 31,000 sq ft and 15 employees. The facility boasts over $150K in strength and cardio equipment operating 7 days a week, 113 hours weekly and services over 1,000 customers daily. The facility was recognized as USAFE’s 2012 Best Fitness & Sports Program and earned a 5-star rating, which is the Air Force’s highest fitness award. Depending on the season, September to June you will find that we offer from 30-40 fitness classes a week. Excluding summer months.
Cardio Insanity is an interval class that requires no equipment and is easy to learn and fun to participate in. It is a cardio-based total body conditioning class. Interval training pushes participant to new training heights, resulting in more calories burned, faster results, and a more efficient metabolism.
Indoor Cycling is a form of exercise focusing on endurance, strength and high intensity intervals. The stationary exercise bicycle with monitor shows the intensity level along with other useful information. Pedals offer the option for both normal and bike shoes. For cycling lovers who do not have enough time or affected by the weather, this is a great cardio exercise in a safety environment all year round.

Yoga is a Hindu spiritual and ascetic discipline, a part of which, including breath control, simple meditation, and the adoption of specific bodily postures, is widely practiced for health and relaxation.
Zumba an aerobic fitness program featuring movements inspired by various styles of Latin American dance and performed primarily to Latin American dance music.
The Wyvern provides a full up fitness experience for military members and dependents. The facility houses a multi-purpose mat room that can house martial arts and wrestling, cardio equipment, expanded functional fitness options, traditional weight training.
Cross Functional Fitness is constantly varied functional movements performed at high intensity. All CrossFit workouts are based on functional movements, and these movements reflect the best aspects of gymnastics, weightlifting, running, rowing and more. These are the core movements of life. They move the largest loads the longest distances, so they are ideal for maximizing the amount of work done in the shortest time.
Wyvern Fitness Center offers Karate, Jiu Jitsu and Kuk Sool Won.
Karate: Is a Japanese martial art influenced by different styles. Is predominantly a striking art using punching, kicking, knee strikes, elbow strikes and open-hand techniques. Kyokushin Kenbukai is a Japanese karate styles which combines old Okinaea Karate with modern techniques and training principles. It involves too Grappling and ground fighting.
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu: it's a self defense martial art developed from the original Japanese Jiu Jitsu. Based on grappling, ground fighting and submission holds, It focuses on the skill of taking an opponent to the ground and maintain control. BJJ revolves around the concept that a smaller, weaker person can successfully defend themselves against a bigger, stronger, heavier opponent by using leverage and weight distribution
Kuk Sool Won: Kuk Sool Won is a systematic study of all of the traditional fighting arts, which together comprise the martial arts history of Korea. As a martial arts system, Kuk Sool Won is extremely well-organized; and seeks to integrate and explore the entire spectrum of established Asian fighting arts and body conditioning techniques, as well as mental development and traditional weapons training.
Kuk Sool Won Little Dragons: Our Children's Martial Arts Programs is designed specifically with age specific exercises, games, drills and activities that will maximize children's learning and growth potential. The children will learn respect, focus, teamwork, self-control, balance, memory, self-discipline, fitness, and coordination skills, which are the fundamental skills necessary to develop and to efficiently and effectively participate in the martial arts.

He became a personal trainer because he wanted to help others avoid mistakes and setbacks while also educating and challenging them to reach their health and wellness goals.
Heba is a high energy coach with a passion and love for both playing and teaching squash. Always motivated, she continuously aims to inspire athletes to do their best. Heba specializes in developing a variety of clinics, drills, personalized lesson plans and player development. She has over 18 years of active squash playing with more than 9 years coaching. She is a professional player in both the United States and Egypt.

Andrea was born in Pordenone and is practicing martial arts since he was 15. He has been an athlete for several years in different martial arts disciplines, he has been part of the Judo and Karate Italian Teams. He is also Jiu Jitsu first-level black belt. Andrea studied in Europe, Brazil, and Japan. He has been teaching on base for more than a decade now, helping many kids to win several medals in Italian competitions
As a former US Army Paratrooper, George draws on his experience and discipline to train and motivate. His 20+ years of martial arts training and deep commitment to teaching help his students meet and exceed their personal goals. George has achieved many notable accomplishments over his 25 years with Kuk Sool Won, including taking home the title of European Champion in 2007. A native of Miami and resident of Italy, George is honored to have the opportunity to instruct all ages.

Ambra has been a massage therapist for two years. Her specialty is Sport and relaxing massage along with plantar reflexology. Ambra is a dynamic person with different hobbies like modern dance, walking in nature and skating.
Eleonora is an holistic therapist since 2002. She studied and practiced Ayurveda and Thai traditional treatments in Italy and India and Thailand. On base, Eleonora offers Thai traditional massages she learned during her trips to Thailand. She loves nature, travels, animals and most of the humans.
